Association Visitors
Page last updated: 4 November, 2009
The King's Lynn Branch has a dedicated and friendly team of three Association Visitors (AV's) who visit people living with MND and keep in touch by telephone and email.
We are always looking for sociable, caring people to volunteer as Visitors and join our team. AV's play an incredibly important role, providing friendship, advice and support to people affected by MND, and offering a vital link with the Branch and other sources of support. In return for your time, you’ll make some wonderful new friends and receive free training, which has won national recognition.
What do Visitors do?
- Offer caring, informed support to people with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and their families.
- Work as part of a local team visiting people with MND and their carers at home or keeping in touch by telephone.
- Provide an invaluable link for people living with MND, keeping them in touch with the MND Association and proactively signposting them to various other sources of help.
What sort of people volunteer as Visitors?
- Good listeners who work with sensitivity and understand the need for confidentiality.
- Caring, reliable people from many different walks of life.
What we offer you…
- An accredited training course.
- Support from other volunteers and from the Association’s regional staff.
- The opportunity to use existing skills and learn new ones.
- Insurance and out-of-pocket expenses.
- Regular up-date training days and conferences.
- The prospect of meeting and working with other passionate and committed people while making a significant difference to people living with MND in your area.
We'd like you to join us!
